On Group Strategy-proof Mechanisms

چکیده
For the many-to-one matching model in which firms have substitutable and quota q−separable preferences over subsets of workers we show that the workers-optimal stable mechanism is group strategy-proof for the workers. Therefore, in centralized markets like entry-level professional labor markets if the proposed matching is the workers-optimal stable matching then, no group of workers can never benefit by reporting untruthfully their preference relations. We exhibit an example showing that this property fails if the preferences of firms are substitutable but not quota q−separable. Journal of Economic Literature Classification Numbers: C78, D71, D78.

Parameterization of Strategy-Proof Mechanisms in the Obnoxious Facility Game
In the obnoxious facility game, a location for an undesirable facility is to be determined based on the voting of selfish agents. Design of group strategy proof mechanisms has been extensively studied, but it is known that there is a gap between the social benefit (i.e., the sum of individual benefits) by a facility location determined by any group strategy proof mechanism and the maximum socia...
متن کاملFacility Location Games with Dual Preference
In this paper, we focus on the facility location games with the property of dual preference. Dual preference property indicates that both two preferences of agents, staying close to and staying away from the facility(s), exist in the facility location game. We will explore two types of facility location games with this property, the dual character facility location game and the two-oppositefaci...
متن کاملCharacterizing Mechanisms in Obnoxious Facility Game
In this paper, we study the (group) strategy-proofness of deterministic mechanisms in the obnoxious facility game. In this game, given a set of strategic agents in a metric, we design a mechanism that outputs the location of a facility in the metric based on the locations of the agents reported by themselves. The benefit of an agent is the distance between her location and the facility and the ...
متن کاملPure Nash Equilibria in Online Fair Division
We consider a fair division setting in which items arrive one by one and are allocated to agents via two existing mechanisms: LIKE and BALANCED LIKE. The LIKE mechanism is strategy-proof whereas the BALANCED LIKE mechanism is not. Whilst LIKE is strategy-proof, we show that it is not group strategy-proof. Indeed, our first main result is that no online mechanism is group strategyproof. We then ...
متن کاملWeak group strategy-proof and queue-efficient mechanisms for the queueing problem with multiple machines
We first provide the complete characterization of mechanisms that satisfy weak group strategy-proofness and queue-efficiency in the multiple machine queueing problem with two agents. For any such mechanism, there can be at most one point of discontinuity in the transfer map. We then state a necessary condition for mechanisms to satisfy queue-efficiency, weak group strategy-proofness and continu...
متن کاملCharacterizing Output Locations of GSP Mechanisms to Obnoxious Facility Game in Trees
In the obnoxious facility game with a set of agents in a space, we wish to design a mechanism, a decision-making procedure that determines a location of an undesirable facility based on locations reported by the agents, where we do not know whether the location reported by an agent is where exactly the agent exists in the space. For a location of the facility, the benefit of each agent is defin...
